It is all to easy to let the most important milestones in our lives pass by extremely quickly and, in turn, we often find that we do not get to enjoy them as much as we could or indeed remember them in anywhere near as much detail as we should.
Memories are tricky things at the best of times and not only are we prone to forget things very easily, but we are also very likely to alter our own memories over time as embellishments and the input of others become intertwined with our actual recollections of events. As such, before we know it, we can suddenly find that our memories are actually very different from the events that actually happened.
However, simply by taking the time to enjoy such milestones more at the time and actually taking the chance to chronicle them along the way, not only are we likely to get far more from these important moments in our lives, but we are also likely to remember them far better as a result too.
Whether you choose to chronicle events through photographs and create your very own photo book or even simply choose to video the events on camcorders or even phones, simply taking the time to gather a great deal of footage of the occasion will no doubt give you far more reason to look back at events later. However, this does mean that the odd video here and there will be fairly ineffective at capturing the rich tapestry of our key life events and that, unless you take many photos or many videos, you are unlikely to take the time to edit videos together or take the time to create your own photo books to look back on.
Whether you are forming a band and want to look back at your first gigs together, are finishing education or even reaching an important birthday, by chronicling the event in detail you are likely to enjoy it far more and remember it for the rest of your life.
