The hearing aids work on button batteries and some can also work on solar energy. Other types of programmable hearing aids contain computer chips to perform various functions. The volume key on the hearing aid is used to increase or decrease the volume of the speaker depending upon the noise level around the person. The different types of hearing aids are behind the ear, In the ear, in the canal and body worn type of hearing aid.
