More people may be turning to the web to source books

Many people around the UK enjoy reading books and an increasing number of these may be heading online to buy used books. By taking advantage of the used books for sale over the web, consumers stand to save themselves money and this could be particularly important now given the tough economic conditions affecting Britain and many other countries around the world.

Research conducted by MyHigh.St recently revealed that four in ten consumers believe they can access better deals by heading online to access goods.

The organisation polled 2,000 adults and found that 60 per cent no longer considered the high street to be their first port of call for everyday household purchases.

As well as saving cash, consumers liked the fact that cyber shopping can save time. One in six respondents noted that they do not have time to browse the shops.

Meanwhile, when people buy used books and other items online, they can avoid much of the hassle associated with heading into town. Expensive or difficult parking, a lack of choice and the inability to visit the shops during their limited opening hours were all cited as problems with traditional high street shopping.

Commenting on the findings, a spokesman for MyHigh.St said: “Long working hours and hectic schedules mean that British adults have very little time to conduct their shopping and so want convenience when they do get around to doing it.

“These days, most people turn to the internet to order everything from food, drinks, clothing and household essentials, rather than nipping down to their local high street or store to stock up.”

It seems likely that the number of people taking advantage of used books for sale on the internet will continue to rise as more consumers become aware of the benefits associated with this form of shopping.
