Many people around the UK take advantage of powerboat courses. In some cases, they need the qualifications for their careers, but a considerable number of individuals book training for recreational purposes.
Powerboat enthusiasts will have been among the visitors to the London Boat Show 2013. The event is being staged at the ExCel exhibition centre from January 11th until January 20th and an array of vessels are on display.
Waxing lyrical about the show ahead of its opening, the Fenland Citizen suggested it “promises to light up the capital with a stunning showcase of all things marine”.
The publication went on to list the top ten things to do while at the event and number four on the list was view the large power boats. It noted that 50-foot-plus power boats are to be displayed, including Oyster, Princess, Fairline, Pershing and more.
These vessels are likely to be a particular hit among visitors who have had powerboat training or are planning to attend such courses.
The Fenland Citizen also advised attendees to make their marina property dreams a reality. It stated: “If you like the idea of overlooking nothing but the water but can’t quite stretch to a superyacht, a marina property is the way forward. The London Boat Show is packed with exhibitors specialising in luxurious villas and waterside hideouts from Andalucía to Antigua, or seek out some straight-talking advice from Which Marina?”
Meanwhile, those with a competitive spirit were advised to have a go at the Musto Winching Competition. Participants can win a £500 Musto voucher.
However, achieving victory may not be straightforward. The publication remarked: “Those international sailing squads make it look easy – the reality is somewhat different.”
Individuals keen to enhance their diesel engine maintenance and VHF skills can also attend special workshops at the boat show.
