As well as finding suitable estate agents in Newcastle, consumers seeking to sell their properties in the Yorkshire city also tend to pay attention to market conditions to help ensure they achieve the best prices for their abodes. This also raises their chances of securing a deal within a reasonable timeframe.
With this in mind, demand for Newcastle letting agents’ services may be especially high at present. According to figures released by Lloyds TSB, the there was an increase in home sales in England and Wales during the first half of this year compared with the same period in 2011.
It revealed that 324 of the 500 towns it tracked saw rises in sales during the first six months of this year. This was more than double the 151 towns that recorded increases last year.
At 53 per cent, Brighouse in West Yorkshire recorded the second biggest rise in home sales. It was only surpassed by Felixstowe in Suffolk, which recorded a 60 per cent increase.
Overall, there were 282,086 home sales in England and Wales during the first half of 2012. This was 2.2 per cent higher than the same period last year.
Commenting on the findings, which will no doubt be of interest to estate agents in Newcastle and elsewhere, Lloyds TSB housing economist Suren Thiru said: “It is encouraging that the number of towns across England and Wales seeing a rise in home sales has increased significantly over the past year.
“This highlights the very mixed state of the housing market at a local level compared with the rather subdued picture at a national level.”
By being savvy when they select their Newcastle letting agents’, consumers stand a better chance of achieving a favourable price for their properties. While market conditions remain strained, this issue is particularly significant.
